The Making Home Affordable Program was implemented by the current administartion on 4/1/2009 to assist homeowners and to stabilize the U.S. Housing market. There are several facets to this program but the main idea behind the program is to assist borrowers who are struggling to make their mortgage payments and/or those that would like to refinance into a lower rate or different program but cannot because their loan amount is currently higher than the market value of their home. There are a couple of steps to determining whether you qualify:
1) Your mortgage must be currently owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Click here to see if your mortgage is currently owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac:
2) To modify, it must be your primary residence and you must be able to show financial hardship. However, you can refinance your loan on a primary residence, second home, or investment property. Click here to see whether you qualify to modify or refi:
3) If you qualify....
If you qualify for a loan modification, you will need to go directly to your current servicer (the company that sends you your mortgage statement.)
If you qualify for a refinance, WE CAN HELP! Call Blue Skye Lending to assist you with your REFINANCE through the Making Home Affordable program. You do not need to go back to the lender currently servicing your loan in order to get a good deal. WE CAN HELP! We are set up with several lenders to assist you in finding the right program for you.
